Frequently asked questions

Q: How do I calculate the width of the drawer box required for my cabinet?

A: To work out the external width of your drawer box, deduct 12mm from the internal width of your cabinet.

Q: What thickness material are your drawers made from?

A : 15mm

Q: Do you only make oak drawers?

A: We recommend that you allow a minimum of 10mm above and 15mm below drawers.

Q: What is the recess underneath the base?

A: Approximately 13mm

Q: What is a dropped front & why would I need one?

A: A dropped front is required when the front of your drawer box is on show, for example in a pantry cabinet. We make the front 15mm lower than the sides and only notch the rear of the box to hide the locking devices. Note: this adds 15mm to the depth of the drawer box [440mm box = 455mm]. Dropped fronts are often combined with a handle cutout, either scoop or linear.
